The First Day of my
Orientation in Ban Makkhaeng School
January 8th, 2019
This is the time i adjusted myself in Ban Makkhaeng School!
As
an english teacher, teaching english in my country is not enough for me. Thus,
going to Ban Makkhaeng School for teaching the secondary school students about
english was something i had always waited since i had been in indonesia. What i
felt as i was chosen as an english teacher bestowing the materials was so happy
and excited. The location of Ban
Makkhaeng School from Udon Thani Rhajabat University is not too far. It could
be reached by foot in which it just takes approximately for 15 minutes. In order not to be late, i started walking
from my dormitory with friends of mine Agung Utomo coming from Jambi, Indonesia,Frank
and F who are UDRU students at 7.10 AM as we had to be in that school before
7.30 AM.
Here was the time when we had to show our respect to Thai Flag as doing ceremony in the morning |
I, in front of the students and the teachers there explained of my purpose visiting that school |
It was the time for Agung to utter his speech. |
When
we an english teacher and a social study teacher arrived at Ban Makkhaeng
School, We were greeted by many people working there such as Mom kun, Mom Tia,
Mom Warukmi and so on. As usual, before the class was started, they had to do
ceremony in the front yard of the school. About 3.000 students studying there
were gathered in the same place to conduct an important occasion. In the end of
the occasion, i along with my friend Agung Utomo was asked to introduce
ourselves on the stage surrounded by the students. Then, we went to our
advisors,Mom Kun and Doctor Nang. As i came to Mom Kun’s office, i was got to take a
look for the new environtment there. There are alot of buildings in that school
namely: 1. The main office, 2. The classes for 1 until 6 grade of secondary
school 3. The classes for 1 – 6 grade of elementary school 4. Canteens 4.Yards . To spend my spare time, i observed
the Mom Kun’s class to know what the class was like.

After
that, we shared the techniques to make the students understand and feel excited
in learning english together. Mom Kun and I got many valuable informations in
teaching as we discussed of our experiences in teaching each other. Having
shared our experiences, we found out the best way to make the class more
interesting and vivid, accordingly the students would never be bored as they
have the english class. We also went to canteen providing many famous thai
foods together.
Being the first time i was enrolled as english teacher, she treated me many thai foods for lunch. The most famous food in Thailand according to them is Papaya Salad. The taste was quite spicy, nevertheless many Thai people are fond of eathing that kind of food. The school was ended at 15.00 PM. Therefore, it was the time for me to leave that school. There were alot of new things as i was in Ban Makkhaeng School.
