2.1 Teaching Methods
As i noticed the
teacher as she was delivering and explaining the materials to the students, She
commonly utilized Grammar Translation Method (GTM) and Audio – Lingual Method
(ALL). In Grammar Translation Method (GTM), it emphazies in learning by its
grammar to translate the meaning of the text they read and followed by
memorizing every new words they just have. The focus of this method is to
increas the students’s ability especially in writting and reading. In the other
hand, she also employed Audio – Lingual Method (ALL) in her teaching process as
she often used tape recorder and video to increease the english students’s
ability, especially in speaking. The objective of this method is to make the
students recognize about the culture of english native speaker easily.
2.2 Learning Materials and Innovation
English teacher in Ban
makkhaeng school has provided some handbook for the sudent both in
compregending the material and for the exircise. She also use electronic media
to support her explanation. As an addition, to attract the student inerest she
also gave some reward for those who are able to answer the question correctly
such as pen, doll, and key chain.
2.3 Sources of Learning and Technology
The source of learning
comes from the book “ Extra Access 3” and “Extra Access 3 Workbook”. She also
used video and music from the internet too.
2.4 Authentic Assessment
As a tool to check the
students’ understanding, the teacher need such a spesific assessment in the
class.
By doing assessment,
the teacher will be easier to know about the students, including their knowledge,
and practice by looking at the students’ works and their attitude observed by
their participation while following the class. Every students in this regard
has been given a work book to do their exercise. Therefore, the teacher can
collect the results of their work in their book. It is used to take the
cognitive values. Then, in order to be able to assess their behaviour in the
class, the teacher does observation of their participation. Hence, the teacher
doesn’t only assess their cognitive but also affective.
