The time to run farewell party
at Ban Makkhaeng School
At
that time, Ban Makkhaeng school held a special occasion for seateacher students
having practiced their teaching practice at that school. They are Norman, Agung, and I. Norman
is seateacher student coming from philippinos, but Agung and I are from
Indonesia. We were gathered in Ban Makkhaeng to have experiences in teaching.
Before starting the occasion Mom kun, Agung, Norman, and I helped by the other
teachers prepared the place including providing the sound, tables, chairs and
foods to be given to people going to attend the party. Preparing the occasion,
i was asked to teach Mom Kun as my mentor at that school to cook indonesian
food together. Therefore, i had thought that, making “Nasi Pecel” in that
Farewell party would be nice and in the other hand, the steps to make this kind
of food is easy enough. The ingrediants we needed were just some boiled
vegetables, namely: matard green, long beans, and sprouts. The other
ingredients we served were rice, boiled eggs that have been peeled from its
eggshell, the covered by nut sausage i bought before i went to Thailand.
Here
is the video as she was trying to make Nasi Pecel in the meeting hall of Ban
Makkhaeng School:
To
begin the activity, the headmaster of Ban Makkhaeng School gave some speech for
us. He told us that he was so happy to accept us as the members of Ban Makkhaeng School Teachers. Then, he bestowedn three sertificates for Agung,
Norman, and me.
Mom kun as the translator, she translated of what headmaster said into english. Hence, It could be understood by people in that meeting hall. We as seateacher students having practiced our teaching in Ban Makkhaeng School were asked to give some speech about our experiences we got and our feeling as i were there. Going on the stage one by one, we utter our feeling to BMK(Ban Makkhaeng School) people. While giving the speech, i realized that perhaps it was the last tiime we could meet. Althought i didn’t want to end that, but I had to leave them since my flight would be in February, 3rd. For exchange culture, i have taught everybody in that room about how to make ‘Nasi Pecel’. Then, It was the time for Ban Makkhaeng School to show us about Thailand Culture. The first dance was conducted by students from the grade 4 of elementary school. There were about 6 until 8 children dancing. Then, the next section was the Dance Performance of Tun Tun, a student of the first grade of Senior High School. She was dancing beautifully. The name of the dance is Fon Aeyporn in which it means the wish of people to be good luck in the future.
Then, the next dance was delivered by the students of the fourth grade of elementary school. The name of the dance is Ram Serng a famous local dance from Esarn region.
After that, we got lunch together. Thai foods and indonesia foods were mixed together on the table. that togethernes was unforgetable thing i got. I was absolutely happy since according to my students, Nasi Pecel mom kun and I made was so delicious and they liked that. Even if it was just in a mont, but i really hope that it was not the end. I told my mentor at school that, if i have a chance in the future i would come back to Udon Thani again and find a job there. i heard unintentionally that english teacher from Indonesia is pretty rare there. Most of them are from Philippines. Thus i am so eager to find a job as an english teacher there, besides i have experiences in teaching the foreign students too.
